About Us

Seven South Street Treatment Centre is a long term residential treatment facility established in 1972. The Centre is a non-profit charitable organization funded by Ontario Health and Correctional Services Canada.

The residence, known as Douglas House, is a large brick and aluminum sided home located in a residential area of Orillia. The house has seven double bedrooms, one single bedroom, a recreational room, TV room, fully serviced kitchen and laundry room. As the home is on a double lot, the large grounds are sufficient for modest recreation. The residence accommodates fifteen clients, and is within walking distance of transportation, the downtown area and a beautiful lake and park.

Seven South Street Treatment Centre also owns a house across the street Gordon House (10 South Street) from the main residence. This facility has three bedrooms (two double and one single) that can accommodate five clients. This house is a Community Residential Facility (CRF) for men currently on parole. All meals are served in the dining room of the main house. The facility is a twenty-four hour supervised service.

Seven South Street Treatment Centre is an integral part of the continuum of care for substance abuse treatment that is staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. We have nine full time employees including counsellors that are specialized and fully qualified in addiction treatment using evidence based treatment modalities.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Seven South Street Treatment Centre consists of a body of diverse professionals who bring corporate and non-profit experience to the table. The board is responsible for the policy direction and strategic planning of Seven South Street Treatment Centre.

"When I arrived at 7 South, I was a broken man. I was addicted to crack cocaine and alcohol. My life was a mess and I wanted to die. The staff at Seven South Street taught me how to fix what was broken. I did what I was told to do in the house and more importantly, when I left. I have continued to do those things and today I am 6 1/2 years clean and sober and not once have I wanted to die. My life is worth living now. Thank you Seven South for giving me my life back!"
