What to Bring & What to Leave Behind

To make sure you're fully prepared for your stay at Seven South Street Treatment Centre, please review the list below. These guidelines outline what you’re allowed to bring with you, as well as items that must be left at home or will be held until the end of your treatment.

What To Bring

A complete list will be sent directly before admission
  • Comfortable casual clothes such as jeans, cotton pants, knee-length shorts, shirts, sweaters, jackets, sleepwear, bathrobe and slippers appropriate for the season
  • Exercise clothes such as jogging suites, gym shorts, T-shirts, walking or running shoes
  • Small alarm clock
  • Toiletries and hygiene products (mouthwash and cologne/body sprays must be alcohol free. All products must be in new/sealed containers)
  • Books, stamps, address book and telephone numbers so you can write or telephone family & friends
  • A sufficient supply of prescription medications pre-approved by Seven South Street Treatment Centre staff
  • A supply of quarters/phone card for telephone and loonies for laundry machines

Footwear must be worn at all times and should be appropriate for program activity.

What Not To Bring

  • Cell phones, computers, personal digital assistants, TVs, movies/DVDs. All electronic devices are prohibited
  • Over the counter medications and vitamins that have not been approved by Seven South Street Treatment Centre Staff
  • Food or beverages
  • Lottery tickets or any other form of gambling
  • Large amounts of money and valuables
  • After shave, colognes containing alcohol
  • Bedding and pillows (all linens are provided)
  • Clothing with inappropriate wording or pictures, including anything promoting alcohol, bars or casinos.

Please note: If any of these items are brought to Seven South Street Treatment Centre, they will be placed in safekeeping and will not be available for your use during treatment and will be returned at the completion of treatment.

Vehicle Usage and Parking

No motorized vehicles or bicycles are permitted for residents in treatment.
